Danielle’s Digest: Week of 6/12/16

[ssba]

This week on the Digest you'll see a new recipe that's on the blog and one that will be coming at you soon. You'll also see how we celebrated a birthday in the family and of course, what we've been eating!

aThose days when you have to walk laps in order to get them to fall asleep. Limp feet means success, but man am I tired too! You can find these cute minimocs HERE.

fMy obsession with the Thai Spicy Almond Dressing and Spicy Candied Almonds from my blog may never end. This version has snow peas, carrots, cucumber, and mango.

And good news, everyone– our pepto colored sink is finally gone (yay!), so it's paper plates for a bit while we wait for a new one.

gThe closer we get to Aila's birthday the more frequently tough days happen. All of June is actually my least favorite. I dread it as May comes to an end and breathe a sigh of relief come July 1. So I fill the month with vacations and work and other things to make it sting a little less.
I craved pizza with Aila all the time (if you enjoy the Pizza Pasta in Meals Made Simple, you can thank her), and have been craving it all week. I guess my heart knows I just need some tangible things to cause me to stop and remember her. So (grain-free) pizza was lunch today in honor of her. ❤️

hI made a Blueberry Galette over on my snapchat and heard such great feedback, so I also made it this past Tuesday on Facebook Live at 4 pm! You can see the video HERE. Keep your eyes peeled for there recipe on the blog!

jWe celebrated Ryan's dad's birthday with family time, a tri-tip with chimichurri, grilled asparagus with shaved Romano, and a salad with pears, blueberries, goat cheese, almonds, and balsamic vinaigrette (recipe in Meals Made Simple).

And here was the finished Blueberry Galette! I served it warm with a scoop of dairy-free vanilla ice cream on top. Wow, was this good! I can't wait to share the recipe with you all.

Here's a better shot of the asparagus I made for Ryan's dads birthday…

This sweet boy. He is growing up so much. And I just can't get over his freckles!

llI just uploaded the recipe for these Red White & Blue Popsicles on the blog, just in time for Father's Day and the Fourth of July! These were actually created for the Fourth of July section for my third cookbook, Celebrations, but we ran out of space so lucky for you, you're getting the recipe a few months early!
