Welcome to my weekly download!
I’m asked so frequently about what it looks like to live a grain-free life day to day, what new products I find or recommend, and what I eat on a daily basis. So I share a blog post every Friday recapping my week for you guys! I’ll try to catalog my meals, snacks, grocery and market shopping finds, and even some of my fashion finds on occasion! These photos, and much more, are also shared on Instagram, so if you don’t follow me there yet make sure to subscribe!
This photo was taken about 8 weeks ago and I just can't believe the amount this babe has grown! We're so excited to add one to this family! 5 weeks to go!
I figured out the Costco mystery! My book is in a box with a few different books, so DIG!
It's under the item number 717907 if you want to call first and ask for it or ask an associate on the floor when you're there. Unfortunately it won't come up by its name or mine.
I dug out and signed all of the copies at the Danville,Ca Costco so go grab them!
And if you're at your store and feel like doing me a favor and want to help others find it, dig them out and put them at the top! 😉
I shared my top tips to paleo over at The New Potato! Go check it out by clicking here!
Weekend casual. I have this $25 dress in a few different colors and may just live in them for the next 6 weeks. The sandals are from Target but here's a few similar pairs!

I've been drinking a lot of bone broth lately (a.k.a chicken stock)! I still can't stand the smell of it but now I love the taste and think it's super comforting to drink a mug at night.
I prepared some of my Tuna Salad from my book Meals Made Simple and paired it with some taro chips. Sometimes I just put the tuna in a bowl and use the chips as a scoop and eat it just like that… no lettuce required!
All of my favorite sale items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale are up on the blog! Who's ready for Fall? I picked out a bunch of stuff that I'm excited to wear post-baby. You can see them here or shop from my favorites below
My Favorites!
We've been doing a lot of cake testing in the studio! I think we probably made at least 10 cakes in the course of two weeks. I am definitely sick of cake now!

My feet have been hating me lately with all the kitchen time and the hot, hot heat. So I broke down and gave into Birkenstocks. Most comfortable thing I've ever put on my feet! I think this style is the cutest and reminds me least of the 90's. 😊 Plus these cotton Target maternity dresses have been my daily favorites for something easy and light.

I love seeing people post using my app! If you don't have it yet do download it HERE!
Ashly writes “Oh my lanta, @againstallgrain has nailed it again!! Mine aren't as pretty but I imagine they taste just as delicious!! I am so in love with this app! Easily the best cookbook app I've worked with!”
Android users, we're working on creating an app for you! We appreciate the patience :).
What's your favorite, natural remedy for indigestion during pregnancy? Because lately, none of these are working!! I've even reached for the Tums a few times in desperation. And all of a sudden, my beloved pregnancy-allowed dairy is giving it to me big time! I got some great recommendations on Facebook that you can read here and also from my Instagram followers here!
I was dying for a sandwich today. So I went to Whole Foods, got 1/4 lb of their fresh house oven-roasted turkey (asked them to use a clean slicer) and took it to the deli and had them make me a lettuce wrap. It was a $9 lettuce wrap but it was worth it! I know, pregnant ladies aren't supposed to eat lunch meat….
I always forget about these pages in my Against all Grain Cookbook! I think it's time to switch up our normal salad for dinner and make one of these!
This was the BEST thing I ate all week! I think I’ll call this a BBQ Ranch Burger Cobb. It was a leftover grass-fed burger on top of greens with my Whole30 compliant bbq sauce, dairy-free ranch dressing from Meals Made Simple, dill pickle kraut from Farmhouse Cultures, bacon, tomatoes, and avocado. It was SO good!
I was going over some video we shot for a new recipe I'll be sharing on the Today Show website and love this angle of the bump! Although I'm not sure I can call it a “bump” anymore, it's more of a basketball!

Hi Danielle, You look vibrant and healthy! Thank you for all your inspirational blogs and recipes! Your books and personal life story is the only hope I have to healing my healthy issues. I am 28 years old and have been dealing with what seems to be colitis all my life. After Many Flare ups and hospital visits I am finally Seeing a specialist now but still no news on any diagnosis. Although you did mention you saw many Specialists until you were finally diagnosed correct? I have a question for you Danielle, I seem to have all the symptoms you wrote about in the book early signs of when you were very ill, but there was no mention of nausea it is persistent for me and has been for years, I am severely anemic and have no color, I never feel rested or have energy. I have lower back aches and frequent abdominal pain and bloating. I have lost 10 pounds in the past 2 months and have missed too many weeks of work because I could not function. Mornings are the worst for me, I feel completely drained. I am slightly getting worried. I am getting married in less than 3 months and was hoping to start a family soon. I really pray that a doctor can finally give me answers. But your book gave me so much comfort and I am now following it completely and have made it my lifestyle? How long until you saw results and felt better after that big flare up you had? I am seeing a naturopath too were you followed by one and what kind of advice did she give you? I can’t seem to tolerate sugar should I still be using raw honey? Thank you Danielle for taking the time to help others. You truly have been my motivation to heal naturally I hope to find healthy soon. Jessica xo

Hi Jessica,
having Crohn`s myself and my sister has Colitis, this is what I suggest:
Go LCHF*. First, this will be against everything you have been told about nutrition.
But it will make the trick to put your body into ketosis. To me, it was really anti-inflammatory.
Don`t worry, you don`t have to stay there forever (unless you like it! There are decade-old success/life stories)
After ~6 weeks I went paleo. More or less, because:
As sweetener we use birch sugar(Xilit) or Erythrit. You need to find out for yourself what works best, for us it is better than any sugary but natural sweetener.
If I want a treat, or my system is upset, I eat potatoes.
To the anemia: my body did not so good on pills or injections. It actually promoted flare-ups and resulted in even lower iron/hematocrit levels. I fixed the prob with a very small portion of ground beef in the morning. I simply fry it but that´s up to you (think golfball size. Just be consistent and eat it every day. Too much was my body throwing out more than the intake. If you have the disease, you get the picture.
So: sure I like berries and I eat them. Honey? Only for cosmetic treatments.
That is just me, 46 years old, off any meds. And still alive, yippie!
Good luck on the journey, ans let us know how it works 😉 Katja
* yes, that is LowCarbHighFat *gasp* best, but not necessary, is to follow the Skaldeman Index: Fat: (Carbs+Protein ) > 1,2

Thank you so much Katja for taking the time to suggest a few new ideas that was never brought to my attention. Great advice, minus the Beef I don’t eat beef but I am taking Proferrin which does not bother my stomach compared to the traditional iron pills. Glad to hear you are healthy and happy after all these years great motivation!

I wish you would have signed a few copy’s of your book at the signal hill location, Costco. I book two of my copies of your book there. Your photos are great. Thx for sharing! Take care!

My Quick Update! I got my scopes done on Friday and they came back with nothing. I wonder if there was no sign of inflammation because of the paleo diet I have been on for 4 weeks now. The Specialist took a biopsy and full blood panel check stool sample and liver functions as I do get jaundice somedays, so that’s all done and now I wait as I will get results in Septemeber. Hopefully I get answers then. Until then I am still living the paleo lifestyle and following Danielle’s book everyday! Thank you! Jess xo
Danielle
That’s incredible! I hope you find full healing! 🙂
Anne
Hi Danielle! I was wondering if you have experimented or had any great success with paleo lacatation cookies? I am 37 weeks too and am looking ahead to prepare and freeze some batches for once the baby arrives. With my last pregnancies I made several types of gluten free lactation cookies, which were great, but they hall had oats or something in them that wasn’t 100% paleo. Best of luck in your last few weeks!
Danielle
Hi Anne- I actually haven’t experimented with lactation cookies. Best of luck to you in your last weeks! 🙂
Danielle
Thank you Kate! I’m so glad you liked the ranch 🙂

Danielle, I got results from my blood work and it has cnaged drastically my iorn levels are perfect, they have never been this up in 10 years!! Everyhting has gone up and I swear it’s the Paleo diet. Following your book has changed my life!! I finally see a change in me and it is so encouraging!! Thank you so much for being such an inspiration to so many of us!! I am working hard to master your recipes! They are so yummy! The world famous bread is delicious but went moldy after only 2 days, should I be putting in the refrigerator to help keep it fresh? I am on holidays next week for 10 days any tips on great healthy snacks for the plane and travel? Can it stay fresh without freezing? I’ll try your bars and zucchini muffins. The Zucchini muffins I made with Almond meal and they really were not cooked enough. I know I need almond flour, but for some reason I can’t find it anywhere here in my small town of Picton in Ontatio. Thanks!
Janelle
The very best thing I found for pregnancy associated heartburn was peppermint enzyme tablets. They’re chewable like Tums (but without that chalky aftertaste) and about $6 for a bottle of 100 at my local Natural Grocers. Hope this helps!
Danielle
Thank you Janelle!

Hi Danielle
I love the Anthropologie kimono you’re wearing with your navy dress. Did you purchase it in store or was it online only. I’ve been looking for it but it seems to be sold out online 🙁
