Welcome to my weekly download!
I’m asked so frequently about what it looks like to live a grain-free life day to day, what new products I find or recommend, and what I eat on a daily basis. So I’m going to start sharing a new blog post recapping my week for you guys! I’ll try to catalog my meals, snacks, grocery and market shopping finds, and even some of my fashion finds on occasion! These photos, and much more, are also shared on Instagram, so if you don’t follow me there yet make sure to subscribe!
I'm giving you an inside look into my Studio Kitchen! This is the first of a series of posts that I'll be doing showing you the decor, appliances, and even my fridge and pantry! Check out the first blog post HERE!
These are some fun $1 finds I found at Target that are oh so festive!

I'm working on a yellow cake recipe for my next book! This was the first attempt and it was a little dry, but I think with 2 more tests it will be perfected!

Also working on a red velvet cake! I'm pretty excited about this one.
Being a working mom means snuggles in the morning and at night are that much more special, and required! My feet ache from all of the recipe testing this week but I created 20 new recipes for the next book! I love when Asher snuggles with “his baby.” It's the best time of the day.

Watermelon 3 ways. One for little hands/mouth, one daddy sized, and one for me. One random thing you don't know about me- I only like fruit if it's cut up. I don't know what it is, but I don't like to bite into it- apples, peaches, strawberries, watermelon, you name it- it has to be in slices/pieces.
I couldn't believe the size of this Hannah Sweet Potato! I love this white sweet potato for it's more mildly sweet flavor compared to the orange flesh yams that you so frequently see labeled as sweet potatoes!
This belly sure is growing fast! I'm so excited to meet this little one in just 7 short weeks!

This is the easiest way that I can get Asher to eat broccoli! He actually requests it when I ask what green item he wants with dinner. Only problem is the smell of fish sauce has been making me feel so sick recently!

I had been craving this a lot recently. I had a perfectly healthy dinner, and then I caved. It happens to all of us sometimes, right? 🙂
Asher has been loving card games recently and I have been loving the opportunity to slow down and play them with him!

This pregnant lady was one happy camper. After 8 hours on my feet testing new recipes for book 3, this fried chicken with BBQ sauce tasted like I had just run through the drive-thru and picked up chicken nuggets with the BBQ sauce in the little plastic containers. Strange how I could still hear the sound of that plastic tearing off the top from the sauce…

This is one of the many reasons I love my son! He asks for snowman pancakes in the middle of summer. 🙂 This is the pancake recipe from my book Meals Made Simple!
My favorite comfortable outfit right now, and it's all on sale! The dress is under $20 and my Matt Bernson Gladiators are half off!
When you've been testing cakes and frostings for the last couple of days (for book 3!!) and you forget (for the second night in a row) that your family still needs to eat real food. Applegate hotdogs to the rescue! I topped mine with kraut, Sir Kensington's chipotle mayo, bacon, avocado, and mustard.
This was one of my favorite dinners recently! It was grilled halibut with just salt and pepper, white asparagus, and a spinach salad with nectarines, pistachios, and goat cheese with my Champagne Vinaigrette from my book Meals Made Simple.
I took Asher to the store and let him pick a vegetable for dinner and he chose white asparagus because he'd never tried it before and loves regular asparagus. It wasn't organic but I never say no to a 4 year old who asks to try a veggie!

I’ve been wondering…. where does one find a white sweet potato anyway? I know the difference between yams and sweet potatoes… and then there’s taro and ube, but I’ve never seen white!
Danielle
I buy Hannah Sweet Potatoes which you can usually find at Whole Foods, Sprouts, Safeway, or natural food stores!

I am so thankful for the Applegate Hot Dogs entry on your blog. I found out they are carried in my local store and I have been able to have a simple meal I can have while it is so VERY hot around here in Seattle. You should be so proud that by sharing your life, you have added so much to ours. THANK YOU!!!!!
Danielle
You’re very welcome! Thank you!

Applegate has the most amazing meats and I can get them at my local Safeway! And I have to have my fruit cut into pieces, too! I finish up my Whole 30 challenge tomorrow. Your Meals Made Simple book got me through it! Now I can’t wait to try some of the dessert in there.
Danielle
Awesome! Congratulations on the Whole 30 and I hope you enjoy those desserts! 🙂
Danielle
Thank you Ana!

When will the new book be released? My niece’s birthday is coming up in September, and she is dying to have a red velvet cake. I’d love to use your recipe for it!
