I’m asked so frequently about what it looks like to live a grain-free life day to day, what new products I find or recommend, and what I eat on a daily basis. So I’m going to start sharing a new blog post recapping my week for you guys! I’ll try to catalog my meals, snacks, grocery and market shopping finds, and even some of my fashion finds on occasion! These photos, and much more, are also shared on Instagram, so if you don’t follow me there yet make sure to subscribe!
Sometimes simple dinners are in order. The boys had rice pasta. Middle Earth Organics is my absolute favorite brand of store bought sauce when I don't have any of my grandma's sauce made. Luckily, I had these meatballs ready for cooking in the freezer!
I had planned on testing a recipe which we were going to eat for dinner, but sometimes the day gets away from me! Thankfully I had frozen shrimp and broccoli and some fresh carrots and cabbage in the fridge. I used the Ginger Chicken and Broccoli sauce from Meals Made Simple and dinner was done in under 20 minutes!
I'm always grateful to find an Rx Bar in my purse for that period between breakfast and lunch when I'm out running errands and start to get hungry.
Here are my purse details:
‘Luna' Messenger– Marc by Marc Jacobs
One of my lunches this past week was my tuna salad from Meals Made Simple in the wraps from the same book with avocado and lettuce and one with Dill Kraut (because I couldn't decide if I was craving it or not), plus a bowl of leftover Clam Chowder from my first book Against all Grain.
Moms of boys- when do they start to become stinky boys who are too cool to love their moms? Because I want to freeze time with my little love bug. He picks wild flowers to give to me weekly and smothers me in kisses and snuggles.
Here are the vase details:
Garden Palette Pitcher– Anthropologie
This past week I had the privilege of meeting and having lunch with Alyssa Quilala who lost her baby boy a few months after we lost Aila. People kept telling me when we lost Aila that I was now part of a club no one ever wanted to enter. I'm grateful though for the “club,” the sisterhood of sorts. Because of it, I've met and become friends with so many incredible and strong woman that share the same heartbreak, most of which I would have never met otherwise. It really is a special bond that only someone who has walked the same path can understand.
Make sure you saw the blog post with the recipe for these Enchilada Stuffed Sweet Potatoes! They are so delicious, and yes, I am still craving them!
By far the highlight of conference was hearing Ina Garten speak. I love how much she has accomplished, all while keeping her family a priority and bringing so much joy and love to people's tables around the world.
“Keeping in your own space, having the most fun you can and the best job you can do, and not doing anything for the money,” were a few of her tips.
This was the incredible panel I was apart of at the Cherry Bombe Jubilee this past week. I was able to share my story with a room full of people in the food industry! They especially loved to hear about my posts about eating gluten-free in Disneyland and were so surprised it was doable.
I forgot to bring snacks to the Cherry Bombe Jubilee and was about to lose it until I found one lone thing to snack on at the snack bar! This Rawpothecary drink was dairy/gluten/nut/soy free!
I had the pleasure of going to Cook Shop NY with my literary agent and my friend Michelle Tam from Nom Nom Paleo. We were so hungry after a long day in the conference that we *may* have slightly over ordered! I tried the Deviled Egg Sampler, kielbasa with sauerkraut, pate, and a spring salad and lots of other yummy dishes. They are so accommodating to gluten-free and paleo diners!
The bump is starting to really show!
Beautiful, real food needs no filter. I do normally love my meat, but if vegetarian tasted this good all the time I'd be hooked. This was a carrot “tartar” with a slightly acidic and tart carrot juice aioli mixed in. It was seriously so good. (The Library Bar at The Nomad Hotel).
This quote from Julia Child explains why I met so many amazing people at the Cherry Bombe Jubilee and why I love my job and all of you who support me!
This was my last meal in New York City. I enjoyed a crab benedict over spinach!
I enjoyed two delicious salads from Sweet Green while in NYC. One for lunch and one for the plane ride home!
After a few days in New York, I can ‘t wait to get home and have morning snuggles.
I made a huge batch of chicken nuggets to put in the freezer for easy lunches for Asher! There's freezer instructions in the recipe.
Did you know that this is all included in Meals Made Simple? Plus, it's 40% off right now on Amazon!
I've been craving bagels. Or really just the cream cheese. I took my Sandwich rolls from Meals Made Simple and put the batter in the donut maker. I found some organic, lactose free, cultured cream cheese at Whole Foods from Green Valley Organics and it really did the trick!
Joannabanana1989 .
Lactose free cream cheese!!! Ahh excellent find I ended up in the hospital after having some cream cheese (frosting) because my body cant do lactose.

Thank you Kim!

Thanks yet again that you are doing this. It helps me so much to begin to envision day to day eating. I still am struggling to be prepared for each day and each meal but this so helps me and makes me hopeful that it will become easier in time. The eating out business is not the problem. It is the daily at home.

I was just diagnosed with a corn and barley allergy today after being diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis. So I am going to be starting a gluten free/corn free diet. Can someone tell me if the Recipes in Against All Grain are corn free as well?
Danielle
They are all corn free!
Linda
I have a question about a recipe I tried that did not work. Where can I email you?
Danielle
Hi Linda- Unfortunately due to the volume of emails and questions Danielle receives, she is not able to answer recipe questions 1 on 1. If you post the question to Facebook or leave a comment on the blog under the recipe you tried, we can try to troubleshoot for you. You may also find her FAQ helpful here on the blog. https://againstallgrain.com/f-a-q/

Help! Can you please give us you insight on Cassava Flour? Thank you!
Danielle
Hi Beth- What kind of information are you looking for? I do not currently use Cassava Flour.
Beth
I am very new to the grain-free game and noticed that you don’t use Cassava flour, but that some bloggers do. I respect your opinion and was wondering if you have a specific reason that you do not use it? Thank you!
Danielle
I don’t react well to tapioca and since they’re made from the same root, I have just steered clear. I also really do try to limit starchy vegetables which carried over from my days on SCD. I’d try it out if you’d like and see if you notice any reactions!
Beth
I know you are a very busy women so thank you for taking the time to respond! Enjoy your evening!
