Almond Matcha Superfood Smoothie

I am so excited to be kicking off my partnership with the California Almonds today. I have created 5 new recipes with all of my favorite forms of almonds, and am looking forward to sharing them with you over the next few weeks! First up, this incredibly refreshing matcha green tea smoothie (ultimate superfoods).

Matcha is all the rage right now. Search matcha online and you'll see people using it in everything from cookies to popsicles, and of course matcha smoothie recipes.  I'm not usually one to follow food trends, after all, I did stumble upon Paleo almost 7 years ago before it was being called a trend (which for the record I don't believe)! You could say that I was actually going against the grain at the time. 😉

But Matcha is so full of antioxidants and gives you a nice energy boost, so it was hard not to jump on this train. It could also just be the really pretty green color that drew me in. I still haven't tried a creamy matcha latte, similar to my pumpkin spice latte, but first I chose to add it to this smoothie filled with other superfoods.

Creamy, natural almond butter, matcha, and tropical pineapple and mango are the star flavors in this smoothie, and benefits from kale and chia seeds are also hidden within. The kale and matcha work together to create a beautifully vibrant green drink that is so refreshing and filling!

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until smooth. Serve immediately.
