[ssba]

This week on Danielle's Digest you'll see what the kids have been eating, an amazing Costco find, and some super exciting things soon to come regarding Celebrations!

special birthdya breakfast

We had a special breakfast for the birthday boy last week. I have various pancake recipes in my books and a couple on my blog, but this pancake recipe is from my new book Celebrations and is my new favorite!

You can find my recipes for Pumpkin Pancakes and Banana Pancakes on my blog and my recipe for Banana Mouse pancakes in Against All Grain (page 190) and my Fluffy Pancakes in Meals Made Simple (page 68).

mailing list

I shared this photo last week before my newsletter went out, and made sure everyone knew they *really* needed to be on my mailing list. In the next couple of weeks, I'll be announcing some super fun giveaways, plus a chance for some of you to get Celebrations a whole month earlier than everyone else. And my subscribers will hear it first! Sign up for my weekly newsletter HERE.

Easton has been having so much fun learning how to walk! He's been loving hopping around on his knees and it's crazy cute and super funny all at the same time. Click HERE to see my cute little guy move!

aag lunches
Here's one of Asher's lunches this past week! I gave him some Chicken Pesto Meatballs from Nikki Dinki's new cookbook Meat on the Side, with marinara for dipping, rice crackers, Homemade Fruit Roll Ups, carrots, raspberries, and grapes. He also gets 2 snacks separately throughout the day!

We absolutely love Asher's lunchbox. I'm asked frequently if it's worth the cost, and so long as he doesn't lose it, I think he'll be using this at least until 8th grade. We got it last year for kindergarten and still love it every bit as much. Get your own HERE!

amazon celebrations fav book

Amazon recently named Celebrations one of their favorite cookbooks being released this Fall! ?? September and October are going to be killer months with new books coming out from all of my major inspirations like Ina Garten, Alton Brown, Dorie Greenspan and so so many more!

babies at 1

I wanted to see my little guys next to each other at the same age to see their similarities and difference. Here's the boys right before each of their 1st birthdays. It's crazy how different they are but how you can still tell they're brothers!

Did you ever have the days when you'd sneak your dog some food? Although I should have been correcting this (for the dog's weight's sake!), sometimes it's worth it  to make a memory instead. You can see the video HERE.

costco best knoves

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw my absolute favorite knives at Costco a while ago! Every Costco location carries different items, but it's definitely worth it to go check out your local store and see if they have them in stock!

he liked ground beef

It's safe to say that he enjoyed the ground beef with my taco seasoning from Meals Made a Simple for the first time this past week! Whenever I plan on serving my recipes to my kids I make sure I add half the amount of spiciness (in this case cayenne) so their tummy and palate can handle it.

layte lunch

This was a super easy late lunch this week. Diestel turkey, sandwich pickles, avocado, chipotle mayo, and mustard all wrapped up in lettuce!

 made cake for ash birthday

I made a cake from Celebrations for Asher's big friend birthday party last week, and I have to be honest, I was nervous the kids wouldn't like it. There were 18 kids, and 6 year olds can be brutally honest and picky. None of them besides A need to be gluten and dairy-free so I was a little nervous they would turn their noses up. I even almost ran to Safeway to get cupcakes for everyone else!
But guess what? Every single kid (and even the parents!) devoured it and asked for more. Yippee!! Now I feel even more confident and excited about this book going out into the world. ?
You can pre-order it now so you're the first to have it next month when it releases, and if you preorder from Barnes&Noble it will be a signed copy. Also, make sure you save your pre-order receipts because I'm announcing some fun giveaways very soon! Click HERE for more info!

Can_t_believe_my_baby_is_turning_1_this_weekend_

I can't believe my baby is turning one this weekend! Oh how time flies. A lot of you asked about my dress, it's older from Anthropologie and no longer available, but I found a few that are similar!

lunch box organic washable bags

I was so glad that I found these organic, washable and resusable snackbags since Asher has to take 2 snacks separate from his lunch to school and we were using up ziplocs like crazy. Now let's see how fast he'll lose them ? You can get them HERE!

Check_out_my_IG_stories_to_see_more_of_dinner___againstallgrain__paleo

Here's a little peek at one of our fun dinners this week! We had so much zucchini in our garden so I had to get creative. I call this one “Zucchini Roll Ups”. They were stuffed full of Kite-Hill Ricotta, fresh herbs, Italian sausage, fresh baby tomatoes, and homemade pesto. They were pretty delicious!

todays lunch

And this was the last school lunch of the week for Asher! It was rolled organic ham (I put a piece of paper towel on the bottom to soak up the juices), cucumbers and tomatoes from the garden, and a little treat since it was Friday! They were gluten-free chocolate animal crackers and dye free organic jelly beans.
