This week on Danielle's Digest you'll see what we were up to in Nashville and Franklin, how we prepared for back to school for Asher, how we celebrated a birthday, and our favorite strollers/carseats/boosters!
This follower is cooking her way through my books Julie and Julia style! It's so fun for me to see and watch her through the journey on Instagram!
We just managed to squeeze in Bartaco before we flew out of town. I got the chicken, banh mi, and pastor all lettuce wrapped and it was so good!
This night was full of some good food and good company. Oh and the chicken with garlic and preserved lemon was delicious at Rolf And Daughters.
This was such a sweet moment hanging in the hammock with my sweet baby boy. Also- I learned quickly on our trip that you just don't style your hair in the south. Because it frizzes right up the moment you step outside!
While I was in Nashville, I gave my friend Annie a copy of Celebrations. She eats dairy/gluten-free for PCOS and I hoped she would appreciate the recipes in the book. Her response far surpassed my expectation. It was seriously one of the most memorable moments in my career watching her turn each page and instantly respond with such unexaggerated and unabashed excitement about the recipes.
I didn't read her the front matter where I explain why I wrote this book, but her explanation is exactly the reason. I seriously CANNOT wait for you all to have this.
You are the reason I wrote it, and Annie is one of “you” so my hope is that you will all love it as much as she did!!
Make sure you check out this video of her response on my Instagram by clicking HERE!
Emotional triggers suck and are hard… but at least there were some cute boutiques in Franklin and Justin's Almond Butter Cups.
When we were on vacation in Nashville I had some extra copies of Celebrations and decided I'd do a little giveaway through Snapchat! I gave some clues as to where we were and the first person who found us won my book. I love doing stuff like that, so if you want in on the fun make sure you follow me on Snapchat! My username is againstallgrain.
This is sweet Kalee! She followed the clues on Snapchat and was the first to find us and won a copy of Celebrations! She is the only person besides my friends/family or publisher that has a copy!! ? It was so nice to meet you and happy cooking Kalee!! ?
We weren't able to get to as many coffee places and restaurants as we'd hoped with the kid's schedules while we were in Franklin and Nashville, but Ryan found this at the store and we loved it. I drank caffeinated because we were on vacation and I wasn't getting much sleep with the time change and boy was it worth it!
I practiced some ultimate multitasking on my weekly Facebook Live segment this past Tuesday. Cooking, parenting, answering viewer questions, and doing live tv. ? Click HERE to watch the video!
This was how my fruit roll-ups I made during my Facebook Live segment worked out! I found the cute craft tape in the $1 bin at Target. The recipe is on page 204 of Against All Grain, but watch the video to see how I modified it to have hidden zucchini and spinach in it this time! You can watch the video HERE.
I can't believe we are already back at this! I'm going to have to up my creative game again but the first school lunch of the year for Asher was cucumber sandwiches with Diestel Turkey, dried mango, cuties, carrots, and he also has a snack of some rice crackers. You can find the lunchbox HERE!
Here's our car seat/stroller/booster alley that fits perfectly between our two cars! Pretty crazy how much stuff it takes to transport kids effectively!
6 years ago my sweet boy made me a mama. We had no idea that day just how much joy he would bring to our lives. Happy birthday to my Asher!
Who told this guy he could grow up? I can't believe how big he is now!
It was the first time traveling with our Baby Zen YoYo Stroller last week, and I'm a believer! As a mom who travels A LOT, this stroller was the best decision we ever made. Our last travel stroller was accidentally broken by the gate-check people and rendered useless on our trip which was a huge bummer, so the fact that this fits in the overhead compartment was a massive plus for us. And it's the easiest stroller to open and close that I've ever used.
Danielle
Unfortunately, I don’t have a recipe for that. So sorry!
