Danielle’s Digest: Week of 4/3/16

[ssba]

Happy almost weekend, everyone! This past week I've been finishing up the last round of editing for book #3 and we've been spending a lot of time together as a family since Asher is on Spring break. Below you'll see some recipes I've tried out this week and even a sneak peek of a recipe you can expect to see in my next book!

simple dinner

Simple but delicious. We had Skirt steak (the marinade recipe will be in my new book) and the grilled artichokes from Against all Grain for dinner the other night. The Remoulade Dipping Sauce is out of this world! You guys have to try it.

sushi bowl

This is not nearly as pretty, but t's my quick (and way cheaper) fix for when I'm craving those sushi hand rolls! I got some fresh crab meat from the store and mixed it with a little mayo, nori, avocado, and a ginger, wasabi, coconut amino sauce drizzled on top.

YumI tried the Southwestern Pulled Chicken Sandwiches with Cilantro Lime Slaw from my beautiful friend Andie Mitchell's new cookbook! I only had to make a couple of subs, and we used my Grain-Free Sandwich Rolls

Diaper_change_escape_artist___honestcompanyHe's a little diaper change escape artist! We love these cute diapers from Honest Company.

Editing CelebrationsI just recently finished up the last round of edits for AAG book 3 and was wishing I could dig into a big bowl of this warm peach cobbler with my new dairy-free whipped cream recipe (SO much better than coconut milk whipped cream). Can't wait for you to all have this book in your hands!
More info coming super soon.

If_you_re_doing_an__aprilwhole30_and_need_some_moreIf you're doing an April Whole30 and need some more recipe inspiration, I have all of my Whole 30 compliant recipes categorized in one place on my blog! You can find them HERE.

Spring_break__I've been absolutely loving having Asher around the house more since he's on Spring break. It just means more cuddle time for all of us!

They_worked_Our seeds worked! Now we just have to see how long they survive in our raised beds…

This_little_guy_was_7_months_yesterday._I_can_t_believe_howThis little guy was 7 months this past week. I can't believe how fast time goes. He's the happiest baby I've ever met. Hardly ever fusses or cries, and sleeps like a teenager (at night, naps suck). He has his 2 bottom teeth, just started crawling, loves butternut squash, applesauce, and puréed chicken with bone broth, and is infatuated with his older brother. He does have to have surgery after all on that cyst above his lip, which is making me a nervous wreck, but other than that he's so so good!
I'm so thankful for all 3 of my babies and everything they have taught me. This one teaches me to find joy, always smile, and to be grateful for the small things.

Favorite_way_to_order_sushi__except_they_accidentallyHere's my favorite way to order sushi, except they accidentally put rice in it, so I just scooped it out. This is a California Hand Roll with real crab (watch out for the imitation stuff) and added ahi.

It_feels_like_we_ve_been_fighting_colds_for_over_a_month (2)It feels like we've been fighting colds for over a month in this house! We love making this Citrus Cold Recovery Smoothie from the Simple Green Smoothies cookbook to help kick it. Click HERE to read more about it!
