It was so fun to get back into the test kitchen this week and film multiple videos for you all (which will soon be on my Youtube channel!). I also did a lot of meal planning, made some baby food for Easton, and enjoyed time with family! See it all below!
Want to get a free jar of this paleo mayo? Make sure you are on my mailing list and I'll tell you how on Sunday in my newsletter! Register HERE. This time, I'm serious. 😉
Look what is back in all Costco stores!! Ask for item number 1043835, as it is listed with a couple of other books!
We enjoyed a lazy rainy Saturday full of smiles, board games, and fires in the fireplace. I kind of hope it's another rainy weekend this weekend, they're the best.
He was saying “Mmm” which I don't hear that often! Most of the time it's whining and complaining, then eating! This is the slow cooker Sesame Chicken from my first book (Against all Grain) served over rice for the boys, not for me. And a big salad with my Balsamic Vinaigrette. I've been doing half the honey in the chicken ever since doing a Whole 30. It doesn't need all that sweetness after all. Also half the red pepper flakes for his taste.
New recipe alert! I'm calling it Apple Pie Applesauce because it tastes like the pie filling. It's made in the instant pot and there's no added sugar!
The beginning of my week was full of meal planning. Did you use any of the 8 weeks of meal plans and grocery lists from Meals Made Simple this week?
We really enjoyed the first two episodes of Cooked on Netflix by Michael Pollan. As soon as we have time, we're going to binge watch the last 2!
I know thighs are all the rage in the paleo world, but I've got to be honest – I'm more of a breast girl. Chicken thighs kind of gross me out ? I marinated these in a honey Dijon sauce and threw them on the grill between the rain. For the marinade, I just whisked together 2 tablespoons avocado oil, 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, 1 tablespoon honey, and 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard. Then threw in a bunch of salt and pepper. These took about 6 minutes on each side, but that will vary.
The leftovers went on a Cobb salad for lunch the next day!
When he falls asleep on my shoulder, I let him linger there a little extra long and thank Jesus that he's alive and that I get to have him here with me. ? Moments like these fill my heart, but also make me miss my daughter tremendously.
I started to peel the squash to steam it but decided to roast it instead. E has been loving the butternut squash especially. I pureed it with just a bit of ghee and tiny pinch of salt. I mix the sweet potatoes with my new applesauce recipe sometimes too.
I think I'm going to eat this for every meal until I get sick of it. I used the leftover Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken and piled it with leftover bacon, raw grass-fed cheddar cheese, and diced tomatoes. I popped it under the broiler for 5 minutes, then topped it with my dairy-free ranch dressing from Meals Made Simple and avocado. So delicious!
Tallow sweet potato fries are in the works! I'm trying them both baked/broiled, and fried. I'll let you know how they go!
Using this Breville Deep Fryer for the first time… I'm scared ? Make sure you follow me on snapchat to see fun things like this!
Ryan got to spend lunch with Asher at school one day this week so I sent a little something special. Grain/nut-free chicken nuggets, Grain/nut-free Snickerdoodle cupcake (from Against all Grain), Clementines with the stems because he thinks it's fun, cucumber, carrots, a few Annie's gf bunny crackers, and my paleo/whole30 ketchup. He was stoked!

I agree 🙂
