Danielle’s Digest: Week Of 5/10/15

Welcome to my weekly download!

I’m asked so frequently about what it looks like to live a grain-free life day to day, what new products I find or recommend, and what I eat on a daily basis. So I’m going to start sharing a new blog post recapping my week for you guys! I’ll try to catalog my meals, snacks, grocery and market shopping finds, and even some of my fashion finds on occasion! These photos, and much more, are also shared on Instagram, so if you don’t follow me there yet make sure to subscribe!

Thank you so much for all of the positive feedback so far on my new app Cookery! If you have downloaded it and are enjoying cooking from it, we'd love for you to leave your review HERE and also post photos using #cookery and #againstallgrain to show us what you're making!

To answer a few questions you've all had:

The app contains 100 recipes with mostly blog recipes, and a few special favorites from my books. The books still have over 200 recipes that are not in either the app or the blog so if you don't have them, you still need them! 🙂

The main things that sets the app apart are the functioning grocery lists, timers, place to save your favorites, and forthcoming nutritional facts! Not to mention being able to take the recipes with you wherever you go!

It's currently available on iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch and we are working on the android version but do not have timing yet! Read more about it HERE

PLUS there's 2 more days to enter the giveaway for the Apple Watch!! Enter Now!

Some Costco finds! I'm so happy our store has these 2 items back in stock finally!

There was a slider bar at an event we attended, so I grabbed a few chicken sliders and a beef one, some salad, and pickles! Hold the bun and the french fries.

We so enjoyed our annual Mother's Day brunch at Auberge in Napa with Ryan's parents. I was nervous about going because we spent last Mother's Day there, when I was pregnant with Aila. It's hard to believe I have actually celebrated there through 4 pregnancies now. Mother's Day was a little harder than I expected and it kind of hit me by surprise. I have been so focused on her birthday coming up, that I didn't think how this normally joyful and special day would go.

I tried to focus over the weekend not on what I don't have in my arms, but on the privilege and blessing it is to be mama to all of my kids – here, there, and on the way. It's not an easy task, but I have this almost 5 year old with the perfect smile to make any day go from bad to good, so that helped!

The end of what turned out to be a great, relaxing Mother's Day weekend.  I retired to the couch and soaked in the sounds of joy coming from the driveway while Asher played basketball with the family, and the joy from the miracle that is the little one moving and shaking like crazy inside!

We were so happy to come as a family and support the work that Children's Miracle Network Hospital is doing for over 11 million children across the country. Someone asked Asher if he was having a brother or a sister. He told them, and then said I also have a sister in heaven! Which made me swell with pride and tears at the same time. I just love that he acknowledges, misses, and remembers her. And I love that her being in Heaven is almost normal to him now and he's excited she gets to be up there and he gets to meet her one day.

We miss our baby girl daily and wish she could have been one of these miracle kids. It was hard to think about what might have been, but seeing and hearing stories of all of these kids who have been saved by these hospitals makes me want to do everything I can to help parents have the best care and treatment for their children. You can order your free Miracle Band here and use #miracleband to help spread awareness and raise money for this cause!

We took one last family trip to Disneyland before the baby comes! Make sure to check out my eating at Disneyland posts and video series if you're planning a trip!

We so love staying in these rental homes in Anaheim! We happened upon them on VRBO and have come back ever since. It's so much better than a hotel and ends up being more affordable most times too if you're sharing it with another family. Plus we can make our own breakfast and pack snacks and lunches.

I have a discount code for you too if you're planning a summer Disneyland trip! Click here to read more about it!

FullSizeRender-1I was getting a little tired of lettuce wrapped burgers and salads at Disneyland so I tried something new! I found a chicken sausage at a restaurant in Fantasy Land and they lettuce wrapped it and had sauerkraut and spicy mustard on top with a side of fruit instead of the fries!
