When I was approached by Thrive Market last year to hear about their vision and the new company they were about to launch, I was immediately excited about the idea of it all. I traveled to their Los Angeles office and got a chance to meet the people behind the company and get a peek at their warehouse shelves. It was so fun to walk through aisles and aisles of my favorite products. It was like being in my own pantry, on a grander scale!
Thrive aligns with the way I think about food. They provide greater access to healthy pantry items for cheaper prices than you would see from other online retailers or even big-box discount stores. That is the main reason I am excited to share Thrive with you all – to help stock your pantry with some of the essential items I think would be a perfect fit for any gluten-free or paleo pantry. They have asked me to partner with them to spread the word of healthy food at an affordable cost, so please note that this offer is part of an affiliate program. I do benefit if you sign up to Thrive Market, but as many of you know, I don't like to promote anything that I don't personally use.
Thrive won't be for everyone, as it costs a yearly fee for membership, think Costco or Sam's Club online, but the ~$60 per year membership fee can quickly be recouped with a couple orders based on their pricing. I would also love for you to leave a comment below if you are able to find these items cheaper at local brick and mortar retailers as that would be great knowledge to share with everyone else. My goal is to have everyone eat healthier, and not be deprived access to quality ingredients. Also, one aspect I particularly love about Thrive's business model is their cool social-good angle. For every membership purchased, they will sponsor one low-income family to also grant access to the lower cost ingredients.
I've put together a little grocery list of products that Thrive offers at a discounted price that I use almost every day. I was amazed at how many items I could fill my cart with for under $100! I know that sounds like a lot, but when I compared the prices of the same products to other retailers, it was over a $40 savings. I order these items quite a few times a year typically, so the membership would pay for itself with less than 2 orders for me.
Below is a list of what 10 grand prize winners will receive direct from Thrive, and I will also throw in a copy of a signed Against All Grain cookbook too so you can get to work utilizing these items immediately.

Thank you so much for the chance to win.

I order most of these items on Vitacost and their prices are similar plus free shipping in orders over $49. I’m always interested in ways to save money on all these things because they are staples in my house. 🙂
Amy Gregory
Just so you know, the maple syrup on thrive is 16 oz and the other one is 32oz. I love thrive and have been doing a lot of pricing recently so I picked up on the different sizes.
Danielle
Oh thank you for pointing that out!

Many of these items you can get at the same price or cheaper online at either Lucky Vitamin or Vitacost. And they don’t require a membership fee, and you get free shipping on orders over $49.
Karen
Love the concept, but I just sat here and compared prices on Thrive with every item I’ve ordered on Vitacost in the last year and, while Thrive DOES beat their prices on most (but not all!) things, my grand total savings if I’d bought everything on Thrive would have been $48.86, so that falls a bit short of making up for the $60 membership fee. I think the savings would have to be greater for me to commit to a membership that I’m going to feel obligated to take advantage of. Also, Vitacost has a lot of great sales and coupons and I’m not sure what Thrive is going to offer in that regard. So I don’t think I’m going to sign up, but if I win a free membership then heck yes I will try it out!!
Danielle
I thought the same thing at first Karen, but then I realized I do the same order about 6-8 times a year so for me, the membership would pay for itself after just 2 orders. It depends how often you go through your items I suppose!
Karen
I looked at a year’s worth of orders when I did my calculations. It may be that it just doesn’t work for me because I have a small family (just myself, hubby, and a 5 year old). With a larger family or more frequent orders, I can definitely see how it would come out ahead!
Stacy
I love that they donate a membership to a low-income family with every paid membership! 🙂 They also offered me a 15% off coupon my first order! I figure, it’s $30 for my membership (unless I win 😉 & a $30 donation to a low-income family. Thanks for another great recommendation Danielle! 🙂

I’ve never heard of Thrive, but I will definitely check it out. I have a Prime membership on Amazon and use it regularly. More regularly than I probably should! I will compare prices. I also have a Costco membership, but only go 1-2 times per year, so I’m not married to it. Thanks for your blog, though. I know how much work it must be — you do an amazing job. I entered, so hopefully I will be able to try before I buy with a Thrive membership!
Leah
Thank you so much for all the amazing information you provide for everyone! Your recipes never fail & are always a hit! I went on the Thrive website and wow! Such great prices & selection. Thanks again for your incredible blog!

Just bought some Paleo items. Love the blog and books. I was just diagnosed with UC and you give me hope to someone that loves food and to cook. I’m looking forward to all the Paleo recipes once I can start eating all the good veggies. Thank you Danielle

I love Thrive Market! It is a great place to find healthy ingredients and items! I have found some of the items listed above at cheaper prices at my local Kroger grocery store. I also work at a GNC and we carry the same brand of coconut oil for cheaper than both of the listed prices. The lower prices may result from the cost of living where I am though. I still love Thrive Market and know that they have great products and I love their social good business model! Thank you for the giveaway!
