CLOSED: Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Review and Giveaway

I use coconut oil as a substitute for butter in my recipes about 90% of the time. In the past I just grabbed whatever jar I saw first at Whole Foods (and even the new Organic one at Trader Joe's – GASP!) because I didn't think there would be much of a difference.

Tropical Traditions was nice enough to send me a sample of their Gold Label Organic Virgin Coconut Oil to try out, and I'm so impressed. It is so smooth and has a great flavor. I've been adding it into everything from smoothies to sauces in the last few weeks. This oil is not mass produced like many of the brands out there today and there are so many different uses for it.

Not only is their product superior to the other brands out there, but I've been really impressed by their business in general after doing some research and following them for a while on Facebook and Twitter. I didn't realize how many arms of the company there were. They sell a plethora of organic coconut products, and even natural household cleaners and organic grass fed meat! They also run a great coconut recipe blog where they allow submissions for recipes. Anyone can enter and if they post your recipe you'll receive a $25 gift certificate to be used on their site. Submit a photo and get another $25!

Founder Brian Shilhavy also writes on a blog called Created4Health.org where he shares about his faith and it's role in their business and their family life. It's refreshing to see a company as large as Tropical Traditions take a stand in what they believe in and not shy away from sharing in fear of being ostracized. They are really paving a new road for the health food industry.

They were kind enough to offer a 1 qt jar of their Organic Gold Label Coconut Oil (that's huge and will last you for months) to a lucky reader. It's worth $40, so it's definitely worth entering.

There's only 2 requirements for entering the giveaway:

1. Sign up for the TT Newsletter HERE

2. Follow AAG on Facebook or Twitter

Leave ONE comment at the end of this post letting me know you did the two items above.

Winner will be chosen at random and must be located in the U.S or Canada. Contest ends on Sunday April 15th at 6pm PDT.

Good Luck and may the odds be ever in your favor! (sorry for the HG reference) 🙂

Tropical Traditions provided me with a free sample of this product to review, and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose.  Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review or sponsor a product giveaway in return for the free product.
